Gloria Golf Club — Verde Course
Par 35 · 9 Holes · Michel Gayon
Gloria's nine-hole course — a real round in half a day, and the one the club pairs with a championship nine to build the Verde Select eighteen.
Why play here
Gloria has 45 holes, and the Verde is the nine that makes the other thirty-six work. It is a proper golf course rather than a practice loop: par 35 over 2,923 metres from the white tees, with two lakes, Bermuda greens that average 650 square metres, and 45 hectares of space for only nine holes.
The club also sells it as the Verde Select Course — the Verde nine combined with the front nine of either the New or the Old Championship Course, played as one eighteen. It is a different round from both of the big courses and it uses an afternoon that would otherwise be lost.
Four sets of tees run from 2,923 metres down to 2,258, and the handicap limit is 36 for men and 40 for women.
How it plays
The one you’ll remember
Hole 5, par 5
Know before you go
This is nine holes, not eighteen. Played twice it becomes a par 70 of 5,846 metres from the white tees.
Ask for the Verde Select Course when you book: the Verde nine plus the front nine of the New or the Old, played as one round of eighteen. It is the club's own product and it gives you a different card from either championship course.
The handicap limit is 36 for men and 40 for women. Bring a certificate or a club card.
Four tees: white 2,923 m, yellow 2,647 m, blue 2,455 m, red 2,258 m. The blue tee is useful for a mixed group — it takes almost 500 metres off the white without going all the way forward.
The greens are large and Bermuda. The ball runs on landing, and a putt into the grain is slower than it looks.
All three Gloria hotels walk to the clubhouse, so an afternoon nine needs no transfer and no planning.
When to play
March to May and late September to November are the two best and the peak season: warm days, firm turf and no heat to work through. June to August is playable, but the middle of the day is hot and early tee times are the only sensible ones.
December to February is also a good season in Belek — mild days, light rain on surfaces that drains fast, quiet fairways and the lowest prices of the year.
