Carya Golf Club
Par 72 · 18 Holes · Thomson Perrett & Lobb Golf Course Architects
Turkey's first heathland course — firm sand, a running ball, and the only floodlit golf in Belek.
Why play here
Carya was the first heathland course built on Turkey's Mediterranean coast, and it still feels lifted out of the English heathland and set down by the sea. It is also one of the few courses in Belek you can play after dark.
Most golfers come here for the pines and the sea. They go home talking about this one.
How it plays
Know before you go
Night golf is best enjoyed as an extra round rather than your main game. Play your regular round in the morning, then return in the evening for the floodlit holes — the course feels completely different under the lights.
In autumn, the course can play shorter than the distances shown on the scorecard. From September onwards, the fairways become firmer, so your ball tends to roll further. On longer par-4s, this can effectively give you an extra club’s worth of distance, and sometimes even two.
The greens are made of bent grass, which is relatively unusual in this region. They are at their fastest in spring and autumn, while the summer heat — particularly in August — makes them noticeably slower.
When to play
March to May and late September to November are the two best and the peak season: warm days, firm turf and no heat to work through. June to August is playable, but the middle of the day is hot and early tee times are the only sensible ones.
December to February is also a good season in Belek — mild days, light rain on surfaces that drains fast, quiet fairways and the lowest prices of the year.
