Antalya Golf Club - PGA Sultan
Par 71 · 18 Holes · European Golf Design & David Jones
Par 71 and a slope of 142 through the pines — the course European Tour players were sent to, and the test at the end of a Belek week.
Why play here
PGA Sultan is the test you save for last. Par 71 over six and a half kilometres, a slope of 142 from the black tees, and the course Turkey put in front of European Tour players when it hosted the Turkish Airlines World Golf Final in 2012.
It is the round your group will still be arguing about over dinner.
How it plays
Know before you go
Handicap certificates are checked, and the limits are tighter than at Pasha: 24 for men, 28 for women.
Play it last in the week. After three rounds your group's game is where it is going to be, and Sultan rewards a settled swing more than a fresh one.
Take the yellow tees unless someone in the group genuinely plays off single figures. The black tees are a single-figure course and turn an enjoyable round into a long one.
It is the least forgiving course in Belek and the wrong choice for a four-ball where half the group plays off 20 or more. If that is your group, put Pasha or Carya in this slot instead.
When to play
March to May and late September to November are the two best and the peak season: warm days, firm turf and no heat to work through. June to August is playable, but the middle of the day is hot and early tee times are the only sensible ones.
December to February is also a good season in Belek — mild days, light rain on surfaces that drains fast, quiet fairways and the lowest prices of the year.
