Sueno Golf Club — Pines Course
Par 72 · 18 Holes · Andrew Craven — International Design Group
The longer and wider of Sueno's two courses — parkland golf through old pines, with the hotel fifty metres from the first tee
Why play here
The Pines is Sueno's parkland course: par 72 over 6,413 metres, laid out by Andrew Craven of International Design Group and opened in October 2007. It runs through mature pine with generous fairways, and it is the easier of the two Sueno courses to enjoy on a first visit.
Between them the two courses carry 128 bunkers and nineteen lakes, in three kinds: fairway, greenside and waste. The greens are large, averaging 700 square metres, and the practice ground is one of the best in Belek — a 3,500 square metre putting green, a thousand square metres of chipping and pitching greens, and a 300-metre range with 50 grass tees and 40 covered bays.
The hotel is fifty metres from the course. A six-thirty tee time here costs you nothing but the walk.
This is the Belek round that does not fight you. It is wide, it is beautiful, and it still has enough sand in it to keep you honest.

Know before you go
The handicap limit is 36, but the club can reduce it to 28 in peak season. Confirm the limit for your dates when you book, not on the first tee.
A certificate or club card is asked for.
The greens average 700 square metres. Spend your warm-up on the putting green rather than the range — it is 3,500 square metres and it is the shot that will cost you here.
Across the club's two courses there are 128 bunkers, nine of them waste bunkers where you may ground your club. Ask at the first tee which areas are marked as waste; it is worth a shot over a round.
The hotel is fifty metres from the course, so the earliest tee time of the day needs no transfer and no planning.
A fully equipped buggy bar runs on the course, so refreshments come to you rather than waiting at the turn.
Sueno has a second eighteen, the Dunes, at par 69 and 5,643 metres in a links style. Two genuinely different rounds without leaving the resort.
When to play
March to May and late September to November are the two best and the peak season: warm days, firm turf and no heat to work through. June to August is playable, but the middle of the day is hot and early tee times are the only sensible ones.
December to February is also a good season in Belek — mild days, light rain on surfaces that drains fast, quiet fairways and the lowest prices of the year.
